“I like to play magic with photographic images. Incorporating or paraphrasing historical imagery in my work, it entwines visual clichés and archetypes, conceptual notions, psychology, mythology and the phantastical.
Craftmanship and techniques both old and new, function as a catalyst in the working process that I consider a ritual of imagination. In this sense, my current artistic practice revolves around the relations between the way I process photographic material and psychological and philosophical themes.
The result – described by several art critics as postmodern alchemy – gives equal importance to the conceptual and the aesthetical, the scientific and the intuitive.”
