De Luister van het Land (book)

De Luister van het Land (book)

In collaboration with graphic designer Bart de Baets the book De Luister van het Land was created. The book features a caleidoscopic collection of over 400 photographs from the Spaarnestad Photo press archive (now part of the Dutch National archive). By means of a selection based on personal interests, fascinations and an obsession with the notion of ‘the diorama’, it interweaves impressions that suggest a (re-created) imaginative world with pictures on the process of creation, featuring my personal appearance.

These two collections of on the one hand creation itself and on the other the process of creation , were translated into two separate designs. The final book design merges these two distinct designs together into one. The book was nominated ‘Best Designed Book’ in the Netherlands (2010).
