Les Enfants Sulphures

The children in Les Enfants Sulphures (2003) were born out of a fascination for old books on domestic creation of clothing in quirky combination with the mysterious quality that seems to adhere to people with physical deformations in different cultures throughout history. The very act of mutilating cut-out imagery serves as a metaphor for bringing to life the experience of life itself by creating the dichotomy of positive and negative affections introduced by emotionally charged depictions of both children and deformation.
